Ingredients

Tuar dal
150gm
Tamarind water  
one cup
Chopped vegetable
half cup
Mustard seeds
teaspoon 1
Red chilli

Sambhar masala
teaspoon 1
Salt
to taste
Mustard oil
tablespoon 2
Turmeric powder
teaspoon 1/2

Steps

  1. Cook dal in a pressure cooker by adding four cups of water, salt and turmeric powder till two whistle and put off the gas.
  2. Churn it with a churner to make smooth blend, add one cup of tamarind water to make it sour, add two cups of water and keep it aside.
  3. Heat cooker, put oil then crackle mustard seeds,curry leaves and red chilli, stir it for a while then add chopped onion, tomato and vegetables, add Everest sambhar masala powder, stir it for a while then add dal and cook it for a whistle.
  4. Serve it hot either with vada, idli or dosa as per your choice.
