Ingredients

Urad dal dhuli (without Chilka) .
250gm
Small piece of ginger chopped
Green chilli chopped
2
A asafoetida
pinch
Salt
to taste
Oil to deep fry

Steps

  1. Soak urad dal in a bowl of water at least for four -five hours, grind in a mixer to make a fine paste, move with soft hands to make it fluffy, drop a spoon of it into water if it comes up it is ready to make vada.
  2. Add asafoetida, salt ,ginger and green chilli.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai,drop vada one by one only four -five at a time, turn it around till it gets golden brown, drain out the oil completely and keep them in a plate.
  4. Dip it in sambhar or you can serve it separately.
